January can, of course be a miserable month, but one of the best ways to warm it up is with a stroll in the country (followed by a pub lunch by a roaring fire – I insist!).
To keep from freezing, without compromising on style isn’t always the easiest, but I do have some tried-and-tested choices to make it more manageable.
Successful winter dressing in a changeable climate like ours is all about layering. Start with a simple vest top, add a light layer and then a jumper.
Coats should be cosy and you can choose between long, or short. I love this Grey Shearling Cropped Jacket, £75 from Oasis. My go-to coat is a Packable Down coat from Ralph Lauren, £189. It’s a high-end option, but with 750 fill down and a choice of lengths, you’ll certainly never feel the chill.
Boots are a necessity. You can, of course, choose classic Hunter Wellies. Durable, reliable and quite iconic for this time of year. Or switch it up and wear these gorgeous Imperial Explorer Oak Waterproof Boots, from Fairfax and Favor, £375.
Leather gloves are both practical and stylish – these are £67 from All Gloved Up and are quite lovely.
I am a big fan of a hat – especially a dashing one, like this from Hicks Brown, £85. Dashing AND practical at covering wind-swept locks!
Finally, you need a truly fabulous scarf. This monogrammed shawl is Louis Vuitton, but Monsoon also have some lovely options!
