Our style crush for January is Susan of Susan After Sixty. You might also know her from her first blog, Fifty, not Frumpy.
Susan blogs about lots of lifestyle issues but it’s her continued devotion to style and her honesty about achieving her look later-in-life that we most admire (not least because she reminds us very much of our own Fabulous Janey).
Susan has charted her journey – she lost forty pounds – and without any doubt, she really did go from a little frumpy to utterly fantastic.

We’ve said before that as mature women, a style crush for us isn’t someone we suggest you copy, but someone to emulate – and Susan’s attention to detail, panache and confidence are what we love most about her (along with a rocking line of chunky jewellry).

A recent facebook post showed herself in what ‘other people’ told her a woman in her sixties should wear – flats, a blazer, neutral makeup. Side-by-side with what she wanted to wear – a leather waterfall jacket, bright blue top and heels. Not only was the second outfit better put together but she obviously felt better in it – and that’s what her whole site is about.
Refusing to let age define you, having adventures at every stage, honesty and really loving life – what’s more stylish than that?
We challenge you not to visit Susan and feel inspired and motivated to really enjoy your style at any age!
