All week people have been wandering around muttering and already feeling under attack – and he hasn’t even started yet! He’s apparently threatened women, reproductive services, immigrants, black people, Britain and LGTBQ people. His staff are apparently worse.
Let’s face it here, just like Brexit – nobody really believed this would happen, which makes the result even more of a shock, and shocks by their very nature can be scary.
My view is that none of this is going to be as bad as we fear. He may be deeply unpleasant – but he’s a successful businessman so can’t be a total fool. He’s also beholden to a centuries old constitution – he doesn’t get to do whatever he likes, no matter what he says.
I’ve decided there’s absolutely nothing any of us can do about this other than to focus on all the positives in life and use this situation as a prompt to make our own little world better.
Generosity begins at home they say – so let’s use this to actually buy that Big Issue sometimes or do the things that we always intend to do but never quite get around to. Ask yourselves ‘would Trump approve?’ If not, then don’t do it!
Women throughout history have been the ones to cope when the world goes mad at the hands of men with big egos and bigger hair. The same will be said now, even if the worst comes to the worst.
We – are a great nation and I’m incredibly proud of us. Let’s be happy for the fab things we have – it’s going to take more than a mahogany coloured, moussed up strawberry blonde to make us lower our own standards!
It was last year when the idea of a site for other women like me dawned – active, busy and ambitious women who just happen to be older.
Firstly it was going to be just fashion, but very quickly I realised that if I were going to write anything – then it would have to have more meaning than just that.
I decided to incorporate lifestyle and wellbeing and make the whole thing truly interactive and inclusive. I felt that with these issues covered, then there really was no end to what could be discussed and discovered – and who may benefit as a result.
